Shark Bridge Card Game App Reviews

Not bad!

For a free Bridge game, its pretty good! Only thing I would ask for in the future is offline play :-)

Not reliable

Paid the subscription fee to compete and practice in the daily tournaments. Consistently I either finish but am not included in the results or dropped from the scoring, not the playing, during the tournament. Could be a great app with the bugs removed though

Lots of Problems-update

See below for first review. Software is now working smoothly. I found that for playing by myself against the program I needed to upgrade to "Bridge Enthusiast" for $19.99. I find Shark Bridge a nice alternative to iBridgeBaron. It has a deal analysis feature that works well. The bidding hints are usually a short discussion. I wasnt happy about the price until I realized that I had paid the other guys over $200 for PC and Mac software over the years. That got me the iOS software for nothing. Old review. Signed up to play in a tournament that was promoted by email. Looks like the server cant handle the business generated as I keep getting kicked out of the tournament as does my wife. Interface is not too bad, but I find Bridge Baron to be just fine. Probably wont be on this site very much. Nice speedy interface and robots seem very capable.

THE BEST

by far the best free bridge app on the iPad...and it is well worth the $20 to upgrade ...the daily tournaments are just long enough (16 hands)...and the next day you can play the hands you did not do well over again getting hints at every move! terrific learning tool, I paid a lot more for bridge baron 25 on my desktop...dont use it anymore

Terrible bridge app

Might be best Bridge app out there, but that is not saying much. The Bots are terrible bidders. They place you in bids that are unexplainable. Not much use for some like me who is looking for a platform which practices good SAYC bridge

Mr.

Random hands are always the same. Random?

Shark vs Bridge Baron

After a couple of weeks of not being able to get into BB with my user name and password I decided to try Shark. Overall it seems good, but I miss the arrow that lets you see whose turn is up, but the lack of it might make for a better learning tool, I dont know. I havent tried the online games yet, but am looking forward to it.

Crazy bidding

Most of this program is quite good, including the package of past world-wide tournaments that can be replayed. However, the computer bidding is atrocious. Not only are the opening bids unsound at times, but the program cannot accurately describe the meaning of its bids. Play of the hand is pretty good, but the computer ignored count signals, especially in ruff-in situations.

Not impressed

1. Bidding system inflexible to setup 2. Little control over bidding by Robot - making it really unusable. Ex: Robot opens, I bid new suit, robot passes. Huh? All the hand analysis is wonderful, I suppose, but if its not bid right, who cares?

IOS 9 fails

Looking forward to the IOS9.0 update.

Please fix iOS 9.0 compatibility

Love this app, but it doesnt work on 9.0 :(

Whos the dummy?

Overall, a good app. Nice set of features. Like the hints. However, 1. In general, the UI could be better. In particular, the four color deck is more confusing then the regular deck, it is easy to tap the wrong card sometimes, and at times it takes a few taps to get a response. 2. Makes some really dumb bids and bid suggestions and really stupid plays. 3. Crashes at least once every time I use it.

Needs Work On Solo Play

Great interface with no glitches. More in App tutorials would be helpful. Solo play against the AI isnt this Apps strong suit. Unfortunate for me because I shelled out $20 bucks for unlimited random deals to have a decent AI to practice against. The robots make some pretty off the wall bids at times. I need to change Norths bids about 25% of the time. Also, Im pretty sure that their "high quality robots " cheat. Their playing pattern clearly indicates that they know each others as well as their opponents hands!! Still, it really keeps me on my toes

I enjoy the daily games

Great until most recent update

My dad played tournament bridge since before I was born and had me holding 13 cards in my hand at age 6 (I am a small woman with small hands as an adult). After my parents divorced I learned the basics of bridge but never got to put in the time to get good. My husband and I got married 5 years ago and in that time we have both tried to brush up on bridge skills but had trouble finding other people to play who didnt already have people to play with. Then we found shark bridge a couple weeks ago and suddenly we were both so motivated and able to learn. It was thrilling. We were saving hands to talk over with my dad at Thanksgiving left and right. It seriously made bridge so much of a more attainable goal for us and we were delighted. And then we updated the app. Now we cannot use it at all. We have an incessant pop up for everything we click that says we must pay 19.99 to use the app at all. Why? Why would you do this to us? We are graduate students on pittance stipends. We dont have $40 a year to pay for bridge. Honestly I would write it off as a greedy world except we cant even access the hands we saved to show my dad for thanksgiving. That made it personal, guys. :( please make it so we can play again!! Please?!

Daily Tournaments

Best part is the daily tournaments. Tough hands and instructive play. Robots could be better. I am also impressed with the care that comes from the staff. I have brought up several problems with robot bidding. They are always prompt with answers and very courteous.

At last a learning game!

I really enjoy games, but I feel guilty when I play them. Since my husband and I play duplicate often, I can justify my game playing as "study!" I love that. This is a good program. I only wish I could count cards better. I do find my partner difficult. He wont play negative double and often leaves me in my second suit when he has better cards in my first suit. It is extremely easy to hit the wrong key

Its OK

Not the best teaching tool out there but probably the best at the price. I can sometimes make a bid when the computer fails to do so. It also doesnt always follow the rules it claims to employ. Update: I purchased the upgrade to VIP status, then changed devices. Now the app says I need to pay for the upgrade again. Not going to happen!

So far so good

No glitches. This game is well done.

Whats Going On?

I can not play the game anymore. It says my RAM is low, but nothing I do fixes it. I see from the other review it may have been an update that ruined the game. I love the game..but can not play.
